SCHOOL COUNCIL

This year, the school parliament has grown and now involves pupils from Year 1 to Year 6. The pupils meet once a fortnight and discuss issues that the pupils across the school feel are important.

At each meeting, the School Council reps feedback on any information they have gathered from the pupils in their class and everyone’s views are heard.

The School Council aims to encourage all pupils at Calverton to:

  • Develop confidence and responsibility and make the most of their abilities
  • Prepare them to play an active role as citizens of Britain
  • Develop healthy, safer lifestyles
  • Develop good relationships and respect the differences between people
  • To have a ‘voice’ and to share their opinions and ideas with others
