The following assessments are carried out at Calverton:
- Reception Baseline Assessments
- End of Reception Assessments
- Phonics Screening Check
- Optional Tests
- End of Key Stage Tests
Reception Baseline Assessment
This is an assessment completed within the first few weeks of Reception. The information provides a starting point from which all other future assessments are measured against.
End of Reception Assessments
These are teacher assessments using the Early Learning Goals. The outcomes are shared with parents in the end of year reports.
Phonics Screening Check
This is an assessment of the ability of the child to read words. It happens for all children in Year 1, and some children in Year 2 who did not meet the expected standard in Year 1, or who were unable to take the check. This occurs in June and the results are shared with parents at the end of the year.
These are tests the school chooses to use to help teachers track progress within the National Curriculum. These occur in the first part of the Summer term in Years 3, 4 and 5.
End of Key Stage Tests
These are national tests set by the government for children in Year 2 and Year 6. They occur in May and more information about them can be found below:
